Candidates are expected to be 18 and have a high school diploma or GED. Graduates can work as supervisors, technicians, safety specialists, and project managers, among other construction roles.

Individuals can apply whether or not they have any prior electrical experience. Even though the program itself is extremely hands-on, graduates may participate in further internships to upgrade their skills.

Financial aid, scholarships, and special arrangements for veterans are available.

Most of these programs take place in apprenticeship and training centers, varying in length between 1 year to 5 years. Those who complete their programs will receive nationally recognized credentials.

Possible options include electrical training apprenticeship, construction training, and carpenter's training offered in conjunction with the Pacific Northwest Carpenters Institute.

Here, candidates can enroll in programs dealing with Facilities Maintenance Technology, HVAC and Refrigeration Technology, Electrical Trades apprenticeships, and Fiber Optics, among others.

The Facilities Maintenance Technology program can be completed in 2 years and offers an associate degree. The HVAC installation, industrial mechanics, electrician, and millwright programs offer certificates. Candidates may also enroll in a welding technology program at the nearby Maritime Welding Training Center.
