Masonry Worker Schools in Anchorage

Students can look forward to learning under highly experienced instructors who have achieved success on the job. As expected, most instructions are geared toward hands-on training, but there are provisions for classroom learning.

BAC programs are usually offered in conjunction with the International Masonry Institute, and upon completion, they lead to many professional opportunities.

This apprenticeship program includes at least 288 hours of classroom training and 4,000 hours of training on the job. It focuses on plastering and cement masonry, teaching key topics such as sidewalks, concrete engraving, and floor slabs.

Students will immerse themselves in a real-world environment, learning transferable skills such as teamwork and self-discipline. Classes typically begin at the beginning of May, with applicants expected to pass through an interview and screening process 30 days prior.

Students can also choose specific focus areas, such as facility maintenance or sustainable energy. The program is perfect for candidates who like working with their hands and as part of a team.

One of the highlights of studying here is that students don't have to pay to learn. They can earn solid wages while they are still learning.

Areas of instruction include civil construction, building construction, and site preparation.

Offered by the school's Building Technologies Division, students learn about the principles of building and construction with several kinds of materials, how to oversee large construction projects, and how to manage a team of experts working under them.

Students who would like to apply may choose between an associate of applied science program that can be completed in 2 years or a bachelor of science program that can be completed in 4 years.
