Generally, students will retain access to training resources for 6 months, but they are free to complete their education in just a few weeks. Additionally, those who pay for this program would have simultaneously paid for the Travel Agent Proficiency test to become certified by the Travel Institute.

The most important topics that make up the curriculum are a general introduction to tourism and travel, an introduction to air travel, professional responsibilities, sales and marketing for travel, and international geography, among others.

Actual topics of focus include international travel and tourism, the business of tourism, geography, and sustainable travel. Students will also have the chance to choose business-related electives through the Spears School of Business.

Notably, students of Oklahoma State University Stillwater's Travel and Tourism Management program have participated in study abroad experiences, visiting countries such as England, China, and more.

To this end, the program incorporates a lot of practical and hands-on training sessions while allowing students to work alongside seasoned professionals. Applicants can choose between morning, afternoon, and night sessions.

Regardless of their choice, they should finish their education in 9 months. For certification, graduates of the program will qualify for several credentials, such as the Certified Guest Service Professional and the ServSafe - Manager credentials.

Candidates who get accepted into the program will learn about sales and marketing for travel, technology and software, planning and budgeting, and more. They will also be able to become certified through the Travel Institute, where the school maintains a strong partnership.

After completing the program, candidates will be able to enroll directly in the Destination Travel Training program offered by the Travel Institute.
