Candidates may also enroll in the Advanced Bricklaying certificate program, where they will continue to build on their fundamental skills by carrying out activities such as laying bricks on lines and rejoining brickwork.

A Basic Block laying program teaches additional skills, such as plumbing window and door jambs using a 4-foot builder's level. Lastly, candidates can enroll in Advanced Block and Stone Laying certificate programs.

For future Masons, they should focus on the aspects dealing with residential and commercial construction, general repair, safety protocols, tools and equipment, and building codes.

The program also teaches blueprint reading and construction management skills that will be useful for a mason on the job.

By the time they graduate, participants in this program will have acquired enough skills to secure employment. Of course, candidates who wish to do so may also acquire additional training on the job.

The program includes many hands-on elements, focusing on topics such as brick and block laying, safety, and general construction principles, among other key topics.

Classes occur twice weekly and include careful explanations of crucial topics in masonry. Graduates have been known to build successful careers in the field thanks to the hands-on nature of the program.

Another one of its notable highlights is the camaraderie, strong relationships, and network that participants can build thanks to the time they spend there.

Offered by the Construction Trades Department, the school recently added a Masonry Certificate element to begin in the summer of 2024. Along with their certificates, candidates will also get the opportunity to acquire the skills they need to secure employment and start successful careers as masons in Arizona.
