The program is 100% online and includes 6 months of training that can be modified to be self-paced. Enrollment is always open, and students must complete 100 course hours of instruction to graduate.

Once they do, they will become experts in utilizing relevant freight brokering software, drawing up contracts, and reviewing transportation laws to determine how they affect their business. The program also teaches topics in the basics of freight brokering, shipper and carrier packets, insurance, sales and profitability, negotiation, and advanced marketing.

The program is easy to follow and can be completed in around 6 months. It includes topics in operations software, transportation laws, interpersonal and communication skills, record-keeping and financial management, and insurance for carriers/brokers, among others.

Students are expected to have a personal computer and a functioning internet connection.

Most of the course is dedicated to introducing students to the industry. Students will also learn skills in determining market rates based on supply and demand and handling day-to-day operations. Before they graduate, students can also learn transferable communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
