This program contains 300 total course hours and leads to certification, including the Registered Vermont Dental Assistant certification in the traditional category. Students will develop expertise in key areas of the profession, including preventive dentistry, patient communication, radiology, and specialty practices.

One of the highlights of studying here is that participants will also receive instructions on how to leverage employment strategies and stand out. After completing the program, participants are expected to gain clinical experience and take certification examinations.

Although the program takes place online, students have the opportunity to participate in real-world training through an internship at the end of their education. The program also emphasizes transferable attributes, including communication, interpersonal relationships, and planning and dexterity.

There are no prerequisites for completing the course; however, students are expected to have a high school diploma or a GED certificate to qualify for the certification examination. The curriculum also explores topics in dental anatomy, oral pathology, and emergency management.

As they learn, participants will work with patients, assist with procedures, take impressions, and take X-rays. Thanks to its accredited status, graduates will also be eligible to receive certification not only as general certified dental assistants but also in specialized areas such as dental radiology and CPR.
