Graduates of the program can either start working immediately or continue their education by advancing to the Accounting Associate of Applied Science program, also available here.

Candidates can complete their education in 4 quarters if enrolled full-time, or in 5 to 6 quarters if enrolled part-time. Either way, they must complete 43 credits of coursework, including principles of accounting, payroll accounting, applied ethics, and related courses, to graduate. Beyond helping students understand the profession's fundamental principles, this arrangement is also valuable for certain students and for long-term career success and continuing education.

Students develop proficiency in fundamental analysis, accounting principles such as accrual accounting and depreciation, and entry adjustments. There are no prerequisites to take the course, but students will need a working internet connection and a personal laptop or Mac.

These include the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers’ Certified Bookkeeper credential and the Microsoft MOS Excel Expert certification. Students receive preparation for both of these credentialing exams.

Accepted applicants learn important topics, including accounting basics and billable expenses, sales tax and reporting, inventory management, progress invoicing, and business strategies.

They can also pursue an Associate in Technical Arts track, totaling 90 credits, for those seeking an associate degree. Additionally, there is an Associate in Business degree for individuals seeking to start their own businesses. The college also offers completely online bookkeeping certification training via CareerTraining.

The programs cover small business accounting, business taxation, principles of accounting, and capstone financial accounting, among others.

The program comprises 29 credits of instruction covering technical principles, professional and transferable skills, and expertise with software and tools. There are no prerequisites for admission.

Bellevue College also offers an accounting associate degree program; an Accounting Information System certificate of accomplishment; and an Accounting Preparation certificate of completion, all of which are suitable for prospective bookkeepers.
