The certification in sight is the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers’ Certified Professional Bookkeeper exam. For core financial skills, students will learn payroll, financial reporting, and billing.

For those who would like to spend more time in training, the school also offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in accounting.

Those who complete this program will be awarded a workplace certificate. Program duration is typically 2 months, and learning occurs in the evening through a campus-based format.

The program begins in the fall. Participants graduate with a strong understanding of financial statements, accounts payable, inventory management, and customization of accounting cycles.

In total, participants complete 210 course hours. They learn to adjust entries, formulas, and functions; correct accounting errors; prevent fraud; edit worksheets; and manage bank account information.

There are no admission requirements to enter this program.

Participants must complete 200 course hours to graduate. They will learn how to utilize QuickBooks Online for everyday bookkeeping tasks.

They will also receive preparation for the AIPB-administered certification exam. Other areas of focus include payroll fundamentals, customer credits and billable expenses, business entities and owner transactions, and more.
