Aircraft Mechanic Schools in Los Angeles

Founded in 1974, numerous graduates of the WLAC Airframe and Powerplant Programs have gone on to attain their FAA licenses and secure high-paying aviation maintenance jobs with various airlines and independent companies.

Lasting 2 years and 8 weeks, this program includes a series of courses offered in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Each semester lasts for 8 weeks.

Graduating students are allowed to sit for the written, oral, and practical examinations conducted by the Federal Aviation Administration.

While the second is the Associate of Occupational Studies in aviation maintenance technology program, which lasts for 22 months.

Just like most institutions on the list, students who successfully complete this program qualify to sit for the written, oral and practical tests with the FAA.

One interesting aspect of the program at Spartan College is the fact that it aims to teach students not only the things they'd know to become successful aircraft mechanics, but in other areas as well, such as Automotive and Diesel, Heavy Equipment, Power, and Light, and Industrial Technology.

The program, of course, is FAA-certified and remains one of the oldest programs in the school. New technicians are trained to become general1450 BOUGHTON DRIVE, BAKERSFIELD, CA 93308 aviation technicians, corporate aircraft technicians, or commercial aircraft technicians.

Among other things, students get to learn how to maintain and repair powertrain systems, hydraulics, propellers, aircraft engines, and radio communications equipment, among others.

The program can be completed in 17 months, but students who wish to go further and earn an associate's degree may choose to do so by continuing their studies for an extra 5 months.

The program also offers students a personalized tool kit with around 263 pieces of equipment upon graduation.

Having been around for more than thirty years now, the program already boasts of successful alumni not only in airframe and powerplant technology but also in related fields such as aircraft manufacturing, hydraulics, welding, electronics, sheet metal, and pneumatics, among others.

Available at Fresno Trades Education Center, the school offers both a certificate of completion and an associate of science degree, depending on the student's choice.

Among other things, students get to learn about reciprocating engine theory, engine overhaul, propeller and engine auxiliary systems, turbine engines, and many more.
